Shounak Lahiri - Director Future Hope India- visits Rugby School

In March this year a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Future Hope School and Rugby School, whereby  Rugby provides educational support to Future Hope School on a charitable basis, in the form of advice on teaching, curriculum, professional development, governance and management.

As part of this new relationship Shounak paid a visit to Rugby School in May 2010. Previously a number of staff members from Rugby have visited Future Hope but this is the first visit in the other direction.

Shounak reports:

"From the 10th to the 13th of May, I was a guest at Rugby School. I was given a chance to audit classes, talk to teachers and spend time in the dormitories, while trying to learn as much as possible on how things are done there. I was amazed at how there are certain traditions that both Rugby School and Future Hope School share, especially with respect to the morning assembly and the full schedule that is set for all the children, incorporating school, prep and games daily. I was also interviewed in Chapel, and was approached by many members of Rugby - both students and staff - who were interested in helping us at Future Hope. I want to thank all of Rugby School for being such gracious hosts, and for making my time there not only productive, but memorable."
