Future Hope Celebrates 30 Years with
Curry 4 Kolkata Kids
A most enjoyable Curry4Kolkata Kids brilliantly organised and hosted by Harlequins’ player Mark Lambert at the Stoop for 110 Quins’ fans following a successful victory earlier that day over the Jersey Reds. Mark brought along many of his teammates to mingle with the guests, to help serve the curry and to take part in the fun filled and relaxing evening. James Horwill, Chris Robshaw and Kyle Sinckler took part in the Q & A session. Very good atmosphere, delightfully MC'ed, a really lovely occasion!
In June Mark Lambert and Luke Wallace spent another week with the Future Hope children in Kolkata to coach rugby and take part in all the other activities.
Now is your chance to help us celebrate by hosting a Curry 4 Kolkata Kids. Treat your friends to an authentic curry night at your home to help us raise awareness and funds to feed our Future Hope children. Order our Future Hope cookbook at firstname.lastname@example.org
From crime writers in Scotland to schools in London and individuals, lots of our supporters are getting involved and having fun at the same time. Recently LSU Camden decided to make some of the recipes in their food technology class and share with our children in Kolkata their thoughts on the dishes and photos of them in the kitchen.
When street and slum children arrive at Future Hope we know a nutritious diet is crucial for their physical and mental development. With the food we produce at Future Hope we see them grow into strong, confident young people who can concentrate in school and play sports with alacrity! Our secret is our cooks who are some of the best in the city; many of them have been with us for over 20 years. Our cooks are brilliant at making simple, tasty and nutritious Bengali food for over 300 children and staff every day. Now we are sharing our recipes so that you can try them at home to share with your friends as you host a Curry 4 Kolkata Kids.
To get started simply watch a video to be inspired by the joy of food at Future Hope. Then download the recipes, invite friends for your curry evening and ask them to donate at our Justgiving page.

On 21 January 2017 the England Cricket Team launched our "Curry 4 Kolkata Kids" campaign at the Eden Gardens after their practice at the nets. This marked our 30th anniversary and is a unique idea to cook authentic curry from Future Hope recipes and raise funds to feed the children. Led by Eion Morgan, Captain of the England Team, the players spent time relaxing and chatting with the Future Hope children, giving them plenty of opportunity to ask questions, take pictures and to sign their caps. The players promised to start cooking "Curry 4 Kolkata Kids" for their families and friends the moment they get back home!
