The Future Hope Mela on 15 April far exceeded all expectations with 100s of visitors descending on Rowland Road . On entering the Mela the fun started with a series of side show games including Splat the Rat, Tombola (the crowd's favourite with "everyone a winner"), coconut shy, can the can and hoopla. The Art and Craft market was particularly popular with crowds flocking to the original glass paintings and a mass of other art and craft products.

Cocunut water from Future Hopes own land was the winning drink along with a very tasty lassi. The highlight of the Mela were the shows performed by the boys and girls and which went down a storm. Whether it was Manitosh's Magic, Hari's solo Cello, James and Swapan's Bollywood Beats, Shanti's Classical Dance or Raja Bichar: the downstairs boys drama which was a star of the show.
