Artificial Intelligence vs Human Touch - Annual House Drama Competition
It took months of research on deepfakes, voice cloning, overseas university scams and the latest in artificial intelligence. Building props, writing scripts, rehearsals and staging were carried out with huge commitment. And the the result were four brilliant productions in our annual "Katie Baddeley" drama competition.
The theme of "Artificial Intelligence Vs Human Touch" was testing. But the children of Future Hope rose to the challenge. "Seldom I have seen such intense and varied depictions on stage," said Kaushik Dutta, one of the judges.
At the end of the four performances the din of 600 claps resonated the Mahadevi Birla World Academy auditorium acknowleding the tremendous effort put up by the children. And after a tense wait, the winning house was Panthers.
Well done all, front of house, back stage, house captains and every performer, super job!
Who Are We?
For us the child is at the centre of everything we do; we are about all-round development for the child; their families matter; their mental and physical health is crucial; co-curricular activities and the arts make them creative thinkers; our values of Trust, Care, Commitment, Tolerance and Opportunity guide us at every step and we will respond as conscious citizens to the outside world protecting our environment, from our trees to our earth and the ant to the elephant.
We agreed that our signatures will be as follows:
1. We will continue with our Individual Child Care Plans because every child matters. These plans will track the wholistic development of every child. Academic of course but also help with vocational and skills courses if formal academics is not something that the child can cope with. We will strengthen our resource room for Special Education, we will take the help of partners where we don’t have our own capacity, we will review this periodically and take corrective action.
2. We will be a green school and green organisation. No plastics and wastage of course, but also positive, innovative, affirmative action towards environment and climate change and carbon neutrality. Every teacher and every member of staff will have three action points to work on towards environment education and action. We will live this every day and in every little action or gesture we make.
3. Sports will be at the centre of our education as it is an equaliser for our children and brings values of teamwork, confidence, discipline and joy. We like winning trophies but we like the values of sports more.
We agreed on action points for each of the above. This also aligns us with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We have a caring team which will make this possible.
Future Hope is growing - with the team and children of Khelo Rugby becoming part of the family.
Khelo Rugby is all about being in the community - playing rugby, which we all love - but also supporting children as they grow up with school and college education, or communication classes.
Working with nearly 2,000 children in 32 communities in Kolkata, a few hundred in the Saraswatipur tea gardens in North Bengal, Haripur in Jharkhand and Bangalore, we are excited to get to know more about them and bring our 35 years experience of creating opportunity to the young lives of the super children of Khelo Rugby.
There is much to be done, but with our joint experience we hope to brighten futures for many more children.
